Hi – my name is René Kling and I was born in the Netherlands before gaining Australian citizenship at the age of 16. I have lived in many places in Australia, but am now a proud Tasmanian. I first fell in love with Tasmania when posted here with the RAAF in the 1980s, when I first bought property in the Kingston area. My wife Margaret was born in Hobart but grew up, lived and worked in Kingston, so we have a very strong connection to Kingborough.
Despite leaving school at 16, I have since gained four Masters degrees in business related areas, and worked for a number of public and private organisations. I understand what it is to ensure the success of an organisation; I have run my own business for over 13 years. I also have local government experience, working as a senior manager and acting Director for a large council.
My vision for Kingborough is to get things done for the ratepayers. Kingston is unique, and we need to take advantage of the fact that it is the fastest growing suburb in Tasmania, by providing the necessary community facilities and infrastructure to see us into the future. I therefore ask you to consider me as Deputy Mayor and Councillor during the upcoming elections.
